Ferdinand Umali is the Lead Pastor of Greenhills Christian Fellowship Durham (GCFD), taking the helm of GCF Durham spiritual ministry after Ptr Luis Cruz retired in 2025. He has been one of the pastors of GCF satellite churches in Canada since 2015.

 

Before he and his family migrated to Canada in 2008, Ferdie worked as a Medical Technologist in the Arabian Peninsula (Middle East) for 25 years. As a “tentmaker,” he served churches in the cities of Manila (4yrs), Riyadh (6yrs), Muscat (15yrs) and Dubai (4yrs) in the capacity of a pastor, teacher, mentor and counselor.

Pastor Ferdie graduated from Tyndale University College and Seminary in 2015 with a degree in Master of Divinity major in Global Mission & Intercultural Studies. He is presently working on his thesis-project to fulfill the requirements of the Doctor of Ministry program at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary, Massachusetts, USA.

Ferdie and his wife, Beth, live in Scarborough. They have three adult children (JayJay, Jenny, and Jammy), a son-in-law (Troy), and a 3-year old grandson (Levi Benjamin).
