Fit for Life

Fit For Life

Fit for Life

Part 1 of One Life to Live Sermon Series

Luis Cruz, GCF Durham

Today, we are starting a new 4-week sermon series called “One Life to Live.” This is the reality we are all in - we only have one chance to live our life so we better make the most out of it.

I’m going to propose here several things that might help you become “Fit for life” or to “Live a healthier spiritual life.” I’m going to use some physically fitness metaphors to share some spiritual truths.

1. Read the “Nutritional Facts label.”

The bible is the only source of information that can lead you to Christ. It is the Holy Spirit’s job to enlighten you with God’s word. The bible helps you to decide whether you want Christ in your life or not.

“It is written: ‘Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.” (Matthew 4:4)

Some important benefits of reading the bible:

A.)    The Bible reveals Jesus to us.   “And beginning with Moses and all the Prophets, he explained to them what was said in all the Scriptures concerning himself.” Luke 24:27

B.)    The Bible reveals who we are.

C.)    The Bible reveals God’s plan for us.

2. Count your “calorie intake.”

“Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and he will establish your plans.” Proverbs 16:3

Make your plans together with God!

3. Establish regular activities together as forms of exercises.

24 And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, 25 not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching.

Some important dates to remember!

A.)    February 19th – Family Day Service. Photo booth available, free photo for every family!

B.)    Weekly Sunday services will start in March!

C.)    March 5th, Lord’s Table.

D.)    April 16th, Easter Sunday Service; Community event!

E.)    May 14th, Mother’s Day Celebration. Photo Booth available, free photo for mothers and their family.

F.)    June 18th, Father’s Day celebration.

Please don’t miss out on these events, kindly plan your vacation. Also, pray for someone whom you can invite for these events.
